The story here is I was racing in the Pre-Injection class with North Glos Racing. The No1 guy and bike was Adam Jeffery and his Yamaha R1 1999. In addition to our class we raced against modern machines being the latest 1000cc Super Sport bikes in the Metzeler Street Stock class. This is at the Pembrey a circuit in Wales.
Adam was the king of Pembrey, I had never beaten him there but I was good at starts, the FJ being so heavy would not wheeley but simply drive hard while the R1 (even with a big lad like Adam on) would want to flip off the line.
So the result was on the first lap, first bend, me and Adam was in the mix of the main Sport bikes but I was in front Adam, he needed to pass me ASAP so on the exit he went to pass on the left but I had the line to the edge of the track. At the last minute I saw him and to avoid a collusion I at to pull out of his way otherwise he would of been off the track and due to the wet grass he would of been sliding on his ass.
It was a hard move, but it's not 'flower arranging' so after the race Adam apologised for the incident and respected me not forcing him off the track. We were both able to fight another day.
What is impressive was that Kerry managed to take this amazing action shot. In my opinion it was the best shot she took of me and she did take a lot of great photos over the 8 years.
